Ritch and Kathy Tinkey took a mission trip to Mexico City in 2010. On that trip, they were shown first hand the evils of the sex trafficking trade.
“I was totally naïve to this industry before. I expected to see teenagers rescued, but I never expected 6,7,8 year old girls. It broke my heart.” Kathy
Through that trip, God told Kathy that He wanted her to do something about this. Although she had new idea where to start, God slowly led Ritch and Kathy to where they are today.
God has opened doors that they could never have opened on their own and He continues to gift them tremendous blessings that reaffirm that they are definitely in His will. This is His mission and we aim to fulfill it as He leads.
Ritch was a builder by trade and he teaches the boys building skills. All of this will take resources and we are trusting God to supply all our need according to His riches in glory! Ritch prays that he can help the boys to see their God-given value and learn that they are invaluable.
One of Kathy’s favorite hobbies is making homemade greeting cards. She will be using her talent to teach the girls to make cards and sell them in the US as a cottage industry. Additionally, as the Tikey’s attend their new church in Costa Rica, they hope to start a sewing school in a impoverished area in the mountains. Here Kathy hopes to teach women a skill, in-turn giving them a sense of self-worth, and most importantly, show them the love of their Heavenly Father.
